Osteopathy
Osteopathy is a primary health care system, complementary to other medical practices. It is suitable for almost anyone and can contribute to the treatment and management of a wide range of conditions.
Osteopathic Manual Therapists primarily work through the neuro-musculo-skeletal system, mostly on muscles and joints, using holistic and patient-centered approaches.
A core principle behind osteopathy is the idea that the body is an integrated and indivisible whole, and contains self-healing mechanisms that can be utilized as part of the Osteopathic Manual treatment. No part of the body works, or can be considered, in isolation. Relevant psychological and social factors also form part of the process of patient diagnosis.
The key tools for osteopathic diagnosis include listening to the patient’s history, examining muscles and joints and observing movements. A wide range of gentle, non-invasive manual techniques such as deep tissue massage, joint articulation and manipulation are applied therapeutically.
Deep Tissue Massage Therapy
Therapeutic massage is a general term that describes any type of massage modality that helps relieve pain, reduce stress, and work on a specific problem—such as a frozen shoulder. People tend to assume therapeutic massage means deep tissue massage, and that they will get a very strong massage. But this is not always the case. Deep tissue massage is great at breaking down scar tissue and getting your blood circulating, but it may not be what you need on a particular day. A good therapist will apply the specific techniques and the right amount of pressure to address your need, and sometimes that’s a lighter touch.
Therapeutic massage involves the systematic assessment and treatment of the muscles, tendons, ligaments and connective tissues of the body to assist in rehabilitation, pain and injury management. It’s performed to create favourable conditions for the body to return to normal health after injury and is defined by the premise that the treatment can reasonably reverse certain physical effects a patient may be presenting. If a patient has suffered a moderate injury resulting in structural pain and/or loss of function, then remediation is required to reduce or eliminate pain and restore that function. Therapeutic massage is designed to balance muscle/soft tissue length, tension, tone which will in turn promote the return to normal joint/capsular/bone position; increase the flow of blood and lymph, particularly in the injured areas, thus removing blockages, damaged cells, scar tissue and adhesions resulting from injury. Before any massage treatment begins, a patient consultation and assessment is performed in order to better ascertain the problem area and to decide on the best technique to apply
Many therapists will use a combination of techniques depending on what your body needs. In addition, therapists will often take additional classes in different techniques

Reflexology
What is Clinical Reflexology
Clinical Reflexology is a non-invasive, holistic therapy that works alongside conventional medical care, helping to re-balance your body to achieve healing and wellbeing in a relaxing, rejuvenating and therapeutic way. Releasing tension often brought on by stressful situations, restoring energy levels, and improving sleep, helping you to feel emotionally and physically stronger.
Make sure your reflexologist is RCRT Certified to ensure the top standards in education and practice.
How does Clinical Reflexology work
By applying pressure to reflexes on the feet with thumbs and fingers, a trained Reflexologist is able to detect any imbalances which may be as a result of stress, illness or injury working these reflexes in a very specific way to initiate a beneficial response in a corresponding area of the body, incorporating meridian points (acupuncture points) and advanced techniques to encourage your body to achieve ‘homeostasis’.
All the systems of the body are worked on the feet, musculoskeletal, respiratory, digestive, urinary, endocrine, nervous, and lymphatic.
Hormonal imbalances
Menopause
Back pain
Migraines, headaches
Sleep disorders
Digestive problems
Circulatory problems
Stress related disorders
Arthritis
Reflexology improves circulation and lymph flow, cleanses the body of impurities and revitalizes energy, which will encourage the body to naturally restore its own healthy balance. Additionally, Reflexology can bring soothing stress relief and relaxation to the mind, body and spirit. The treatment can be pleasurable and extremely relaxing to receive, as well as invigorating and energizing.
Some insurance companies will cover this procedure. Please check with your provider.

Counselling / Psychology / Mental Health
What is Counselling ?
Counselling is provided by a caring, trained, and objective professional with whom you are able build a healing and trusting relationship. With that established problems can then be addressed in the secure and private environment provided by Body Therapy. Professional counsellors are experienced in being able to offer different types of assistance, most frequently talk-based styles of therapy depending on the individual personal difficulties being faced .
Counselling is a process of talking openly about, and working through, your personal difficulties with someone how is willing to listen and wanting to help, and who genuinely cares. The counsellor helps you to address your problems in a positive way by helping you to clarify the issues, explore options, develop strategies, and increase self-awareness. For some people, just the process of telling their story to a counsellor, and being listened to, without judgement, is helpful.
Body Therapy provides the necessary facilities and professionalism to aid those who may be concerned with developmental issues, who want to address and resolve specific problems, or assistance with making decisions. Counselling helps with coping with crisis, the development of personal insights and knowledge, and assists clients to work through feelings of inner conflict and to improve relationships with others.
The counselling provided by Body Therapy is completely confidential. This means that everything you discuss with the counsellor is private, between just you and the counsellor.
